Adding a Printer |

| If you wish to add one of our networked printers to your PC, then first get the name of the printer that you would like to add, which is on the label on the front of each of our networked printers. These names are derived from Big Ten University mascots so they are easy to remember. Then please follow these instructions: |
| -Note: In these instructions, I will add the OCM-HOOSIER printer, which is located in the reception area near the fax machine, but you can add any of our networked printers with this method. |

Click on the Start Menu in the bottom-left of the screen, and click on “Printers and Faxes”. |

Click on “Add a Printer” in the top-left of the Printers and Faxes window. |

Click next on the first menu, and then you will see the box below, where you will click “A network printer…” and then click next. |

On the next screen, click the button for “Connect to this printer…”, and type “\\bl-pagr-print\” in the box, not including the quotes. |

Once you type in the final backslash, a menu will appear below your typing. Select the printer name that you found on the label on the printer that you are trying to print to and hit enter on your keyboard or “next” with your mouse. |

The printer has now been added to your printer list, and the last screen asks you if you want to make this your default printer. Clicking “yes” makes this printer the first option when you go to print. Clicking “no” leaves your current default as your first option. If this is the printer that you want to print to most of the time then click “yes”. If not, then click “no”. |

Lastly, when you go to print, make sure that you send the document to the correct printer name. |
