Font Book
Sometimes our font management programs do not work right. When this happens, you can use Tiger's built-in font management app, Font Book, Close your copy of FontAgent Pro or Suitcase, then open Applications/Font Book.
Check to see if your font is loaded in the Font column (usually the in the middle). If so, highlight the font, then go to Preview/Show Font Info. The font's full information then will appear in the right hand column. Check to make sure it is not a TrueType (.ttf or .dfont), as this can cause problems. Try to stick with our Adobe PS Type 1 fonts. The ones we own are in the Adobe Font Folio Folder in Documents.
To add fonts, click the plus + sign in the font column, and navigate to your Adobe Font Folio folder and then find the font you want to load and click "Open. " This will load the font.
To remove a Truetype font, Control-click the font, and select "Disable" from the dropdown menu. (You re-enable them using the same method). There are a few .dfont that are used by the system that you cannot disable, they should not cause a problem, but if you have both a .dfont Helvetica and Type 1 Helvetica loaded, you may have problems. If this is the case, please contact the VPURIT staff.
