Choosing the Operating System
VPN connection using Mac OS X 10.5.x (Leopard
)
Right-Clicking in Windows using the trackpad

Note: If you do not press the Option Key after powering up the Mac Book, then the Mac Book will boot to the default operating system.

Boot Camp allows you to start up your Mac Book using either MAC OS X 10.5.x (Leopard) or Windows XP.

  • Power up the Mac Book and hold down the Option key to bring up the Boot Manager

    Press Option Key
  • Use the left or right arrow key or click OS icons to select Windows XP or Mac OS X v10.5 "Leopard" operating system

    Select OS

  • Press "Return" Key or click on the arrow benath the icon to boot to the selected operating system

VPN connection using Mac OS X 10.5.x (Leopard)

To use VPN connection in MAC OS X 10.5.x (Leopard)

  • Click on the VPN icon on the menu bar, and click on Open Network Preferences option

    Click on the VPN icon on the menu bar, and click on Connect IU VPN option

  • In the "Server Address:" field enter ipsec.indiana.edu for IUB campus and ipsec.iupui.edu for IUPUI campus
  • In the "Account Name" field enter your IU username
    Note: If your username and passphrase are not accepted, try entering your username with the following format ads\username

    Click Authentication Settings
  • Click Authentication Settings, Select Password option and then enter your IU passphrase

  • In the "Machine Authentication" section, Select the "Shared Secret" option, and in the field type: hermanbwells
  • Click OK. To make a VPN connection, click Connect

Right-Clicking in Windows using the trackpad

To right-click using a trackpad:

  • Place two fingers on the trackpad and click the trackpad button
