Roll Call and Golden Book

The VSS Office would like to thank the readers who volunteered their time for the National Remembrance Day Roll Call on Nov. 11.

We are proud to display the newly digitized Golden Book in the Memorial Room of the IMU and would like to thank the IU Parents Fund for its sponsorship and dedication to IU's service members.

We are here to serve you, and we encourage you to visit our office for help with any student- or military-related concern.      

Special Event: Team Rubicon President to Speak at IU

Interested in learning how you can repurpose your military skills as a veteran? Team Rubicon is a disaster response organization that uses veteran volunteers to repurpose their skills for international and domestic  deployments. Members fulfill a host of duties, including: search and rescue, medical care (based on disaster location), debris removal, command and control support with other agencies, logistical assistance, home repair, other tasks as directed.

The Kelley Institute for Social Impact, Civic Leadership Development and VSS will host Team Rubicon President & Co-Founder Jake Wood at 7 p.m. February 23 in CG 1034.           

Free One-on-One Library Research Assistance Now Available

Do you need help with research for writing a paper or a project? A librarian from the Wells Library will be on site to assist with research-related materials. Research assistance will be every Thursday afternoon from 12 to 1 p.m. Please feel free to walk in for consultations or schedule an appointment.

No-Cost Training Available for Veterans

If you have had one day of active duty with other than a dishonorable discharge, short-term training is available at no cost to you. Training areas include welding, administrative assisting, computer support and more. You must complete training and secure employment before July 1, 2012. Veterans Class U206 Moved to Second Eight-week Session

First-Year Veterans Experience (EDUC-U206) is a 2-credit course designed to support the transition of veterans and service members to higher education. It is an 8-weeks class usually taken by those who are new to the IU system. It is set for the spring semester from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays in the second eight-weeks session. Registration is by permission only. Please contact vetserv@indiana.edu or jopsumme@indiana.edu to request permission.

Math Tutoring for Spring Semester

Welcome back to IU for the spring semester! As in the past, we will offer FREE tutoring for intro-level math courses.  Jon Hall will be back this term and will offer walk-in math tutoring in the lounge in VSS (IMU M084) on the following schedule beginning Tuesday, January 17th:

Sundays: 4 to 6 p.m.

Tuesdays: 5 to 7 p.m.

Wednesdays: 5 to 7 p.m.

National Guard soldiers now must use goarmyed.com instead of the minuteman website IOT to request Tuition Assistance.
