Systems Analyst Programmer IV - PA3IT
Description and Responsibilities:
Leads the design and development of applications within the Lifetime Constituent Communications Initiative (CRM). Collaborates with partners, analysts, and teams within the central computing organization. Develops standards and best practices using web developing technologies and mentors developers. With developers and functional team members, gathers, documents, and validates information systems requirements for complex business processes or technical challenges. Establishes estimates and designs application solutions; develops, tests, and deploys complex programs; assists with management of application releases; and develops interfaces between CRM and other applications. Designs programmatic solutions to enhance system functionality to users and stakeholders; tunes delivered processes for improved performance; troubleshoots system problems; and designs improvements to system components to remove system problems and errors.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and three to five years of professional experience developing enterprise-level software.
A combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience in creating and supporting applications in a Unix and/or Windows environment, scripting languages, SQL, and relational database structures and experience in systems development work with a solid concentration in Unix and/or Windows environment required. Requires an excellent understanding of and experience with developing enterprise-level applications using a variety of programming languages, such as C, C++, C#, Java, VB, etc.; experience with Object-Oriented programming languages; experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or 2005, TSQL syntax, SSIS packages, and stored procedures; and experience with Web 2.0 programming languages and technologies required. Must be able to work well with little supervision, have good communication and analytical skills, have strong customer orientation, and possess enthusiasm for new technologies. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work with a variety of people with varying levels of knowledge required; ability to assume project leadership for information system projects and work at the highest level of technical complexity; and high level of accuracy, dependability, and responsibility essential. Familiarity with IU systems and platforms is a plus.
