Manager, Enterprise Services Integration - PAE5IT
The manager of the Enterprise Services and Integration team provides leadership for the planning, development, implementation, maintenance and documentation of all aspects of application and service integration within the institution and promotes seamless access to such services throughout the University. The manager is responsible for creating and refining the leveraged software services that provide the backbone for achieving Indiana University's Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) objectives.
Actively define strategy and pursue tactics in support of an overarching strategy to realize the benefits of a Service Oriented Architecture. A lynchpin service for this effort is the evolving Kuali Rice community, pioneered by Indiana University, and the Service Bus implementation of that architecture. Work with the Kuali and other open source communities to ensure that we are making the right kinds of services available to meet the needs of our constituencies.
Responsible for the staffing and operation of the group that supports the maintenance and upgrades to the enterprise Peoplesoft implementation for Indiana University.
Responsible for the staffing and operation of the group that supports the Kuali Rice implementation and maintenance for Indiana University as well as engagements with clients who want to leverage Rice services, such as workflow, notification, application development, etc.
Responsible for maintaining, supporting, and evolving technical architectures for Enterprise Software division at Indiana University, including the java deployment environments for use by myriads of applications of varying sizes, as well as the peoplesoft environments and other purchased products as needed.
Actively, maintain very good working relationships with the Database Administration and Enterprise Server Administration teams, as well as with the other Enterprise Software development teams to foster productive working technical environments based on sound technical principles.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and seven years of systems development experience, though a combination of education and experience may be
considered in lieu of a degree. Master's degree is desirable. Candidate must possess excellent skills in leadership, problem
solving, decision making and communication.
6 years of computing experience, including at least two years of systems development experience. Must possess in-depth knowledge of relational databases, systems analysis, project leadership and customer support. Experience with large system projects in a university environment is preferred as well as experience working with open or community source projects.
This skill set is constantly evolving. Incumbent needs to stay abreast of state-of-the-art technologies and have ability to learn new technologies whenever appropriate. Must possess a working knowledge of relational database, reporting and data warehousing applications and extract, transformation and load techniques. Current tools are procedural, object-oriented, and scripting processes and web protocols. Knowledge of standard management tools including Excel and budgeting applications is required.
