Q. What networks does the IU Network Operations Center support?
A. The IUPUI campus, the IU state network infrastructure to the Bloomington, Columbus, Richmond, New Albany, Kokomo, Gary, South Bend, and Fort Wayne campuses. The NOC also provides limited assistance to the IU Bloomington campus network.

Q. What is the relationship between the IU NOC and the IUPUI UITS Support Center?
A. The Support Center is a customer’s first point of contact when reporting problems they have with their computer or network. If the NOC needs to be contacted, the Support Center will do that for a customer. The contact information for the Support Center is:

Q. What are the main responsibilities of the Network Operations Center?
A. The NOC offers oversight of problem, configuration and change management, network security, performance and policy monitoring, reporting, quality assurance, scheduling, and documentation. The NOC provides a structured environment that effectively coordinates operational activities with all customers and vendors related to the function of the network.

Q. What is the relationship/difference between the IU NOC at Indianapolis and the NOC at IU Bloomington?
A. The IU NOC in Indianapolis supports the IUPUI campus, and the IU state network infrastructure. The IU Bloomington NOC supports that campus. The two NOCs stay in close touch, and work together in many collaborative efforts. The IU NOC assists the IUB NOC when appropriate, especially in the capacity of backup support.

A. The phone number for Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm is 812-855-3699. After hours on weekdays and on weekends, please contact UITS Operations at 812-855-9910, and they will page the IUB NOC engineer on call for network problems. The NOC’s email address is noc@indiana.edu.
