The language used in this manual should not be construed as creating a contract of employment between Indiana University and any employee. Individual departments have departmental operating procedures specific to the subject matter of the department. Such procedures are supplemental to-not in lieu of-the policies in the manual. In case of conflict between such operating procedures and the policies in this manual, the policies in this manual shall control and such conflict shall be subject to all stages of the grievance procedure including mediation and arbitration.

Changes in this manual

Additions or changed wording to implement the July 2006 agreement between IU and CWA are indicated by red font in the Web-based manual and by italics and underlining in the printer-friendly versions of the policies. For a quick reference of all of the policies that were modified this year, please refer to the Table of Contents.

How to print a policy

A printer-friendly version or a PDF of each policy is available for printing. You don't need special software to print a printer-friendly policy. To print a PDF file, you need special software, such as the Acrobat Reader, Version 4.0 or above. You can download and install the Acrobat Reader on your system by clicking on the link below. You only need to install it once.
