Special Guest: Harold "Pete" Goldsmith, new Dean of Students
Harold "Pete" Goldsmith, has been named the new Indiana University dean of students and vice provost for Student Affairs. Goldsmith was previously vice president for enrollment management and student affairs at Kent State University. "Pete is a highly accomplished student affairs professional who will bring a great depth of experience to the position," said Hanson. "He has a proven record as an administrator who is profoundly responsive to student needs, and he is clearly driven by a desire to help students succeed. I am delighted to welcome him back to Bloomington." Harold "Pete" Goldsmith "I am very pleased and honored to return to my alma mater as the dean of students," said Goldsmith. "Indiana has been a very important part of my life. I look forward to returning to provide leadership for student affairs at the university. " Goldsmith earned undergraduate and doctoral degrees from Indiana University Bloomington. His undergraduate major was government with minors in psychology and sociology. After graduating from the American University with Master of Education degree in student personnel, he returned to IU to pursue a Doctor of Education degree in higher education administration. Goldsmith has overseen student affairs and enrollment management at Kent State University since 2003. He previously served as vice president for student affairs at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
