Lorry Goldenberg -- Knitter and Weaver
Lorry Goldenberg has been knitting since the age of 12, when she visited a knitting shop in Huntington, Indiana, her lifelong home. Her interest was encouraged in college by a friend’s mother, who taught Lorry a faster, more efficient method of knitting; rather than “throwing” the thread, which required separating one’s hands, her method kept the hands together. Later she attended knitting camps, where she learned to knit “in the round” to reduce or eliminate the need to sew pieces of a sweater together.
