Katrina Gorman -- Fabric art
Katrina Gorman attributes her quilting passion to the material losses she suffered when her house caught fire. “It just changed everything about me. All those memories and things that I always wanted to do just started pouring out of me,” Katrina explains.
To get through the trauma of the fire, she started expressing her emotions through fabric. She originally created the panels for personal reasons, with no intention of making them public art. Her family was instrumental in convincing her of the artistic worth of her creations, even resorting to sneaking the quilts out of the house to show others, and setting up her first gallery exhibit.
