Gerald Terry -- Atlanta Music Hall founder
Gerald Terry and his wife started the Atlanta Music Hall in 1987 to provide a place for local musicians to get together and enjoy each other’s fellowship while playing “old time” music. They have a loyal following, and people travel from as far as Indianapolis and Chicago to play or listen to the music.
Gerald remembers growing up listening to his father play fiddle at local events and in neighbors’ homes. Gerald never played an instrument until he was 30 years old, when a friend of his father’s taught him to play the four-string jazz banjo. He is inspired by new members of the Music Hall, and enjoys adding new songs to his repertoire.
Gerald reflects: “The music’s been great, but making friends has been wonderful.”
