Larry worked for the majority of his life as a farmer and home builder, while doing repair work on the side. But over the past decade he has been increasingly devoting his time to art. Adept in a variety of folk arts, he has made everything from large scale carousel horses to small rocking horses for sale on the antique circuit.

Larry repaired instruments for many years before he began to build them. Larry believes that repairing instruments is like an early period of apprenticeship or self-tutelage - a necessary first step for anyone wanting to build.
