Biography:
Robert Cornell is currently pursuing his PhD in Telecommunications at Indiana University. Interested in the group behavior of virtual world participants he studied anthropology at Beloit College. There he focused on identifying homologous social structures and levels of cultural complexity that were shared by virtual domains and existing ethnographic literature.
Now Robert is examining small group psychology and distributed cognition in online interactions. By recreating previous psychological group experiments in virtual environments with different sets of circumstances and modalities, the differentiations may help answer questions in the realms of evolutionary theory, psychology and cognition.
