Biography
I am Ph.D. Candidate working toward the completion of my doctoral dissertation in early fall 2011. My primary research interest focuses on cognitive processing of mediated messages, especially messages concerning health (sexual and mental health, cancer, and nutrition). I am particularly interested in how we process audio and visual information and how these channels can be used most effectively to prevent or change risky health behaviors. On a lighter side, I am also interested in how the strategic placement of audio and visual information can make media use more fun.
Scholarly Interests:
Sex and Media, Health Communication, Media Processes and Effects, Psychophysiological Methods
