The Media School

I received my B.A. in Marketing from Indiana University in 2007, with minors in Telecommunications and French. I delved into the business of creativity for three years as an Associate Account Executive in a mid-sized advertising agency, specializing in direct response and lead generation strategies. Working directly with creatives, media planners and buyers, data analysts and, of course, the client, I managed goal-oriented campaigns supported by tactics such as direct mail, television, print, outdoor and online. Among innumerable lessons from the agency world, I learned that my greatest joys, headaches and moments of pride came from managing the many moving parts it takes to create a successful end product.
In returning to IU for my Masters, I will take these skills to the world of broadcast and film production. By creating a diversified course plan including classes on theory and practical application from Telecommunications, Library and Information Science, Communications and Culture and Business, I hope to get a broad understanding of creative industries, as well as a varied set of tools to apply to real creative products. Outside of work and studies, I love to travel, try new food, create Excel spreadsheets and wish I were always followed by a professional photographer with a wind machine.
