Students Profile: Mary LaVenture

Mary LaVenture, a graduate student, completed her M.S. degree in Telecommunications in May 2011. Her interests included documentary filmmaking, alternate reality games, museum exhibit design, and photography. Her career goals center on museum exhibit development/design and technology integration in both museum exhibits and education. Mary is the recipient of the Sheehan Memorial Scholarship and her recent documentary "A Four-Wheeled Fascination: The Evolution of Roller Derby" won the Advanced Non-Fiction award in the 2011 Multivisions Media Showcase Competition. Mary recently completed an internship at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis. She worked on a number of projects including a community walking tour phone app, a museum exhibit about roller skating, and a number of personal photography and painting projects.
