Student Profile: D.J. Mentser
Daniel Jay Mentser is a junior at Indiana University, majoring in Telecommunications. Daniel focuses his studies on program directing, primarily in field video production. At Indiana University, his short mockumentary
Armstrong was screened for the public at the Indiana University Memorial Union in October, 2010, and he has produced various sports news packages for the IUSTV program Hoosier Sports Nite. In his home town of Cincinnati, Ohio, Daniel volunteered for Norwood Community Television in the summer of 2010, operating cameras for program shoots and producing his own community highlights special. This summer, Daniel will be living in New York City, interning for ABC News in their Primetime Newsmagazine department. Daniel has also collaborated on various projects for the Indiana University Memorial Union Board Films Committee, co-produced an entry in the spring 2010 Campus Movie Fest competition; he also works part time as a Media and Reserve Assistant at the Herman B. Wells Library. A recipient of the Donald Abbott Rushton Memorial Scholarship for program directing, Daniel hopes to pursue a career in directing and writing for feature films and episodic television.
