Kurdish Language Course Details

Sorani Kurdish Curriculum

The proficiency-based Sorani Kurdish curriculum features 20 contact hours and weekly and twice-weekly language tables where students engage in conversation, meet native speakers, and learn more about target cultures. Students also participate in the Workshop’s rich co-curricular program.

FLAS Fellowships for Kurdish may be awarded pending availability of surplus funds later in the semester.

About Kurdish

Do I need previous background in Kurdish in order to participate in the Workshop?

Students may begin studying at the 1st year level with no previous experience with the Kurdish language.

How can I continue my study of Kurdish beyond the Workshop?

Kurdish is offered through the second year during the academic year at Indiana University through the Central Eurasian Studies department.
