Stat/Transfer Overview

  • Stat/Transfer is a program for transferring statistical data between different programs. For example, a user may wish to analyze a particular dataset using Stata even though it is saved as an SPSS system file. Stat/Transfer can easily convert the SPSS .sav file to a Stata .dta file without losing any of the formats (such as variable or value labels) that exist in the SPSS version.
  • UITS offers full support for this software. The UITS Stat/Math Center (812/855-4724 or email: statmath@indiana.edu) can answer questions concerning Stat/Transfer.
  • Stat/Transfer for Unix is currently available on Steel. The Windows version will be deployed in all UITS Student Technology Centers in the spring of 2007.
