Internationalizing Teacher Preparation: Strengthening Programs,

Sharing Practices

Using interactive electronic media, the project focuses on:

1. Providing opportunities for students currently participating in an international student teaching program to reflect upon and share experiences with prospective program participants.

2. Creating an international experiences forum using interactive communication technology for student teachers to foster dialogue about common and enduring issues faced by all teachers across cultures and geographic boundaries.

3. Providing a means for student follow up after participation in the international student teaching program has concluded to document the ongoing influences of this experience on professional and personal growth.

4. Extending the international student teaching experience to students in K-12 Indiana classrooms through interactive communication technology.

5. Encouraging participation in the overseas student teaching program by underrepresented low-income and minority groups.
