Minors
SPEA Minors: Open to all IU Students
SPEA’s multidisciplinary faculty and curricula address environmental, health, public policy, and management issues from a variety of perspectives, making a SPEA minor an ideal complement to majors from across many fields. Any Indiana University student enrolled in a bachelor’s program (and in good academic standing) may pursue one (or more) of the minors offered by the School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Students should check with their degree-granting unit to make sure they are eligible for the SPEA minor(s) of their choice.
General Policies and Procedures
Each minor requires 15 hours of courses (taken from an approved list) with a 2.00 grade point average, and none of the courses may be taken by correspondence through the School of Continuing Studies. Students may only double-count 6 of the required 15 credit hours in other SPEA major or minor requirements. Students may earn up to three minors from SPEA (check with your school for individual school restrictions), but each minor must have at least 9 hours that are not satisfying other major or minor requirements.
