Fall 2012 Applicants: A note from our Director of Graduate Student Services:

SPEA Master’s Candidates:

Again, congratulations on your admission to one of SPEA’s master’s degree offerings. Our applicant pool was the largest and strongest in history. As such, we commend you on your compelling application file that led to your offer of admission.

SPEA’s approach to merit aid allocation is to offer smaller packages to the greatest number of deserving candidates for the primary purpose of attracting the best and brightest students from around the globe to our array of master’s degrees. SPEA will continue to offer merit aid as candidates turn down our awards and pursue their graduate training elsewhere. Thus, SPEA’s merit aid allocation process is rolling and may very well last into the summer months. This said, we thought it important that we share that we have extended our first round and second round offers at this time. We will extend additional offers until all of our merit aid pools are depleted.

With this news, we do hope you will continue to be patient if SPEA offers the best “academic fit” for you. We believe the quality of our faculty,  curriculum, student life and surrounding community are well worth your continued consideration. We will do all we can to prioritize being communicative during our allocation process and to share other funding opportunities along the way with you. We appreciate your investment of time and energy thus far and, as always, stand ready to offer any assistance you may need as you determine the destination for your graduate training.

Respectfully,

Jennifer J. Forney
