Jenna Morrison (MPA/MSES '10)

Master of Public Affairs/Master of Science in Environmental Science, 2010
When Jenna Morrison was a little girl, she “always wanted to save the world.” The big question was how. Through fundraising? Education? Community outreach?
After studying at SPEA, Morrison thinks she’ll be most effective as an executive director of a small non-profit.
“That way, I’ll get to wear a lot of hats,” says Morrison, a current student. “Then I can be the one prioritizing on how to save the world faster.”
Morrison looked at other schools, but chose SPEA because it allowed her the opportunity to pursue the joint MPA/MSES degree.
“I like that flexibility – that ability to go in a lot of directions and still be able to make my degree specific for the things I really want to do.”
Even if “saving the world” seems like a pretty tall order.
“A lot of us here have lofty goals, and sometimes reality can slap you in the face,” Morrison says. “But SPEA has a great support system, and if I’ve learned anything here, it’s that by sharing and working together, we can make progress.”
