Professional Staff Advising

The Office of Career Services offers personalized career advising and information resources to SPEA undergraduate and graduate students regarding various career-related needs and questions, from resume reviews to salary negotiations. Common student advising sessions include:

  • Resume and Cover Letter Assistance - Note that 24-hour advance notice is required.
  • Preparing for job, internship, or informational interviews - Mock interviews are provided upon request
  • Developing a job- or internship-search strategy
  • Evaluating employment offers
  • KSA’s (Knowledge Skills and Abilities)- used for government employment
  • Student Timelines (bachelors/masters)

Workshops

The staff at the Office of Career Services will work with student organizations to provide workshops tailored to meet students' needs and interests. Workshops can be given on various topics such as: interviewing skills, networking strategies, and job-search techniques.
