Indiana CTSI pioneers secure federated identity management
Translational medicine researchers from across the country can now access a range of data and advanced technology resources using the user ID and password of their home institution. The Indiana Clinical Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) HUB provides federated identity management—allowing researchers to use resources such as medical databases, high performance computers, and life science visualization tools in multiple distributed locations without the need to remember yet another password and login procedure. Under the leadership of Elizabeth Weinstein, MD, a dual trained physician in emergency medicine and pediatrics, Indiana’s EMSC program will focus on developing collaborative partnerships with various governmental entities, hospitals, and EMS providers/agencies in Indiana to ensure that all children receive the best possible care in an emergency situation. To celebrate EMSC Day, various educational and outreach activities will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20. These activities, held in collaboration with Wishard Ambulance Services, will take place at the Services’ offices at 3930 Georgetown Road.
