Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to be eligible for future aid
Financial aid is available to students who complete a FAFSA and maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress. Students are reviewed annually at the end of the spring semester to determine if they are achieving Satisfactory Academic Progress towards completing their degrees. Below are the standards that must be maintained.
- Must achieve a Cumulative Program GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Must complete at least 75% of all attempted classes (Classes passed divided by all attempted classes including all Withdrawn, Incomplete and Failed classes)
- Bachelor's degree students must complete their degree and graduate within 180 credit hours of attempted coursework
- Master's degree students must complete their degree and graduate within 60 credit hours of attempted coursework
- Doctoral degree students must complete their degree and graduate within 125 credit hours of attempted coursework
If students fail to meet these standards, financial aid for the following academic year will be suspended. Students may submit an appeal and if approved be placed on a term by term financial aid contract. Visit http://www.indiana.edu/~sfa/receiving/sap.html to review SAP in greater detail.
