2012 Field Projects

- Bayahibe Preserves, La Romana, Dominican Republic. Dates: May 7-16 (tentative)
The intensive field research directed by Charles Beeker, Director of the Office of Underwater Science and Dr. Geoffrey Conrad, Director of the Mathers Museum, Indiana University, will focus on underwater research assessment techniques as applied to the scientific investigation of the underwater site in the Bayahibe area. Students will be performing photographic documentation and site mapping in addition to other research techniques used in the field. Independent research credits may be available to qualified students with permission of instructor.
- Tropical Island Ecosystems, Grand Cayman Islands. Dates: TBA
Developed in cooperation with IU's Office of Overseas Studies the ten day program in Grand Cayman is a hands on introductory course to the natural and cultural heritage of the islands.
