The Z550 course, Gender and Diversity Issues in Art and Education, will meet jointly, on several occasions, with the Gender Studies course G701/402 the Peg Brand is teaching with Judy Chicago and Jean Robertson.

In the Z550 course social, historical, political, and educational issues will be examined as they relate to gender and diversity issues in art and education. Some topics for discussion will include socialization and education in relation to the world of art, the image of women and people from diverse cultures in art and society, social views and functions of art, women's achievements and the history of art, contemporary art and feminism, sex equity issues in art and education, and feminist models for building leadership in art and education.
