Amy Hirschtick began working on a PhD in 2009 with a specialization in Religions of South Asia. She is currently writing her dissertation on the ritualized statues of Krishna in the North Indian city Jaipur, where the famous Krishna statue known as Govinddev rules as the “true king” of the city. Amy has received fellowships from the American Institute of Indian Studies, Fulbright-Hays, and the College of Arts and Sciences to support her graduate work. Previously, Amy completed an MA in Religious Studies at Indiana University and a BA at Northwestern University in Religious Studies and Radio/Television/Film.
