Audio Editing: Recording to DAT
- Hardware: Amplifier & TOA Mixer / DAT device
- Softward: Aardvark Router Program
1. Turn on equipment
- Amplifier & TOA Mixer [1]

- DAT device [2]

- Computer [3] (should be on)
- Open Aark 20/20 program [3]
2. Insert DAT tape
- Depress "Open/Close" button [2]
- Insert DAT cassette in tray with arrow pointing into device [2]
- Depress "Open/Close" button [2]
3. Locate blank portion of tape
- Depress "End Search" button on deck or remote [2] (the display will flash "EE" until it locates the next available cue. At that time it will indicate the number of that cue point)
4. Select source to record on router
- On the right hand portion of the Aardvark control panel under Outputs, find "SPDIF 9, 10" and select the input device from which the signal will come [3] (for instance, if you wish to record from the microphones, then select "Analog 1, 2 IN"
- On the "Sync Source" window below the output selection. Select "SPDIF" to appear in that window.

5. Test recording levels
- Depress record button on deck or remote [2]
- If necessary adjust record level knobs
- Depress "Stop" [2]
6. Prepare to record
- Cue source media to beginning of selection
- Or cue narrator to be ready
7. Begin recording
- Press record [2]
- Press play [2]
- Start source play or cue narration
8. Stop recording
- Press Stop [2]
9. Repeat above two steps as often as necessary
