Audio Editing: Recording from Microphone
- Hardward: Amplifies & TOA Mixer / Table Microphone / Microphone Mixer
- Software: Aardvark Router Program
1. Turn on Equipment
- Amplifier & TOA Mixer[1]

- Microphone Mixer attached to Control Room Microphone

- Computer [4]
- Open Aark20/20 program [4
2. Test recording volume
- Adjust grey master volume knob to 8 [3]
- Adjust black #4 volume knob to 8 [3]
- Speak into the microphone at the level you intend to record at [2]

- Adjust the black #4 volume knob so that the "VU" meter does not go into the red area on loudest signal [3]

- Correspondingly, make sure the "VU" meter registers between -10 and -3 db for the majority of the signal input [2]
- Confirm that the green and yellow indicators on Analog 1 & 2 inputs of the Aark Router match the levels of the "VU" meter [4]

Note: Do not have monitor enable box checked
3. Select Recording Device
- Identify the output number of the device you wish to record to on the Aark Router [4]. For instance, if you wish to record to the DAT machine, it is #9 under "Outputs" on the Aarkvark job aid below.

- Select "Analog 1&2 IN" in the "Output Source" window adjacent to the device you wish to record to [4]
