United States Coast Guard Cutter Hamilton

As the first U.S. Treasury Secretary, one of Alexander Hamilton's feats was securing funding from Congress to build a fleet of 10 revenue cutters. These precursors to the modern Coast Guard prevented smuggling from reducing national impost revenues. In this tradition, the USCGC Alexander Hamilton was launched on November 10, 1936.
