Current Information

The INGHAM is currently known as Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
On each wing of her bridge are 19 decoration and campaign ribbons, which bear 10 battle stars. Her two Presidential Unit Citations, with a gold star representing the second award of the medal, is an honor won only by a handful of ships in our nation's history. Beneath the ribbons is a U-boat symbol to commemorate INGHAM's sinking of U-626, the first enemy submarine sunk by an American warship in the bitter battle of the North Atlantic. Ten marijuana plants beside the ribbons represent drug vessels captured by INGHAM.
Over 2,000,000 paid visitor have toured Patriots Point, and it has become a mecca for reunions of ship crews. Patriots Point is well-known for its well maintained fleet and the world's largest collection of famous ships.
