Fragrant Sumac Scientific Name: Rhus aromatica Description: A low bush or rambling shrub with 3-parted large-toothed leaves that have a pleasant odor when crushed. Twigs brown, bark smooth, flowers small, greenish. Leaves 4-6". Height to 7'. Habitat: Sandy and rocky soils. Range: Southwest Quebec, west Vermont, north Indiana, northeast Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma to northwest Florida and east Texas.
