Virginia Creeper Scientific Name: Parthenocissus quinquefolia Description: Climbing or trailing vine with tendrils sometimes provided with adhesive tips. Leaves smaller than usual the usual 2-6" long, 1-3" wide. Climbing by means of slender tendrils which sometimes are provided with terminal, adhering expansions; old stems brown, somewhat roughened; young stems green to red or brown, glabrous, flattened, somewhat finely grooved. The vines may climb tree trunks or walls, clamber over objects trail on the ground or sometimes are supported by ariel rootlets. Habitat: Various. Range: Widespread in the United States.
