Bittersweet Scientific Name: Celastrus orbiculatus Description: Diffuse woody vine, climbing to heights of 20' or trailing on the ground. Thicket-forming by underground stolons. Habitat: In many types of soil thickets, woods, fence rows, and along streams. Range: Central Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas; eastward through Louisiana to Georgia, northward to Quebec, and west to Ontario, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Nebraska.
