Phylloporus rhodoxanthus

Common Name: Gilled Bolete
Description: Cap 3-12 cm across, broadly convex; bright reddish brown to yellowish olive; dry, dull velvety to subtomentose. Stem 40-100 by 5-15 mm high and wide.
Habitat: under mixed conifers and hardwoods. Quite common. Found widely distributed throughout North America.
Edible: quite good.
