Description: Coarse, hairy-stemmed annual with inconspicuous flowers in elongated clusters
Habitat: Cultivated fields or old fields, waste places, and roadsides
Range: Throughout eastern North America
Comments: Cause of hay fever. Seeds persist into winter and are numerous and rich in oil, and thus relished by songbirds and upland game birds.
