The Vietnam War was "the longest war in U.S. history." The United States' involvement would change the way people saw war and the people who fought for their country. Television and mass media had the ability to reach into people's homes and lives, making the Vietnam war the center of the county's attention. In 1968 the Tet Offensive brought the greatest uproar of the war and causes terms such as "guerilla warfare" to be universally known terms of war. The Vietnam war is heavily portrayed by Hollywood and many of the films try to establish messages that are both direct and indirect. The Vietnam war is still lives inside of the veterans and the people that lost friends and family during this controversial war. The films made about this era are strong and potent of the power, anguish, and consequences of war.
