In Good Morning, Vietnam, a somewhat lighter side of the Vietnam War is displayed. While the brutality of war is still lurking in the shadows and shows its face from time to time, there is still a lot of comedy in this movie. The underlying message of the movie or intent I believe, however, was to show how in the dark the American public and even the soldiers themselves really were at the time.
