The Partnering for Advancement Mentoring Program assists faculty in attaining their professional goals in research, teaching, service and work/life balance. Each fall, all newly hired faculty get invited to participate in the program. Mentees are paired with mentors across campus, but never in the same department. The program offers a training session for mentees and mentors, a handbook of guidelines and suggestions and monthly opportunities for connecting with mentors as well as valuable interactions on life as a new faculty member, preparing for tenure, grant writing, balancing work/life issues and promotion from associate to full professorial rank.
