Guidelines for IUB Departments or Schools with
Student Exchange Agreements

Since IU has had student exchange programs for decades, many units already have policies and procedures which have served them well. However, given the current expansion of exchanges, the following document serves to assist units that are developing exchanges for the first time or those interested in improving existing procedures. Please note that these guidelines apply to the exchange of undergraduate or graduate students for a semester or an academic year. Issues related to faculty exchanges or short-term program arrangements should be addressed separately with appropriate offices on campus. See the document's appendix for an overview of the various offices that provide resources related to international students.
