In The Bistro, the information for everything is jealously
guarded. No one is allowed to look at the cookbooks except Librarians, and they won’t talk to anyone. They lurk in the back room, where no one else is allowed except an occasional courier.
There are too many things on the menu for anyone to
memorize the recipes; but no one is allowed into the back room where the cookbooks are. How do the Line Cooks know what to do? They stand around waiting.
An order for an entree arrives at The Bistro, and |

goes directly to the back room. This triggers a series of events, eventually resulting in the
production of the entree. What must these events be? The Bistro has no telephones, no fax machines, no xerox machines...just Librarians in the back room, Line Cooks, some couriers, and miscellaneous necessary ingredients.
Write out list of all of the steps between arrival of the order, and release of the entree. |
