 King | • Monday, Jan. 20, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and has been designated an official university observance day since 1998. Please check in online at the IU events calendar for commemorations specific to IU campus regions.
• Keep your calendar open for the IU Kokomo Gallery’s opening of the exhibition “Arts in the Parks,” which runs Jan. 12-Feb. 15, and is the first appearance of the show in Indiana. The National Park Foundation’s juried competition features 100 paintings that capture the spirit of visitors’ sites throughout the National Parks Service. Opening reception is Jan. 12, from 2-5 p.m., featuring a lecture by book illustrator and “Arts in the Parks” exhibitor Christopher Leeper of Canfield, Ohio.
