
Bantz
| IUPUI will formally install its new chancellor, Charles Bantz, at a ceremony Thursday, Dec. 4, at 9: 30 a.m. at the auditorium of the University Place Hotel and Conference Center on the Indianapolis campus.
IU President Adam Herbert and Purdue President Martin Jischke will both be among the platform committee members who will take part in the formal installation. The IU Board of Trustees also will be in attendance. The board’s regularly scheduled monthly meeting is Dec.4-5 on the IUPUI campus.
Bantz was named IUPUI’s fourth chancellor in January, and he began his tenure June 1.
He was formerly provost and senior vice president for academic affairs and professor of communication at Wayne State University.
An organizational communication expert, Bantz is the author of the award-winning Understanding Organizations and participated in the Salzburg Seminar’s Universities Project, which was created to help promote higher education reform in Central and Eastern Europe, and in the former Soviet states.
