Fifty middle schoolers from the Indianapolis Public Schools are getting to see a Colts football game this season, thanks to a new effort by the IUPUI campus to recognize youngsters who work hard to improve their grades and attendance. Beginning Oct. 21, the first group of students chosen, accompanied by family members, attended a Colts home game. A picture of kids holding IUPUI pennants is transmitted to a video screen during the game, with a message from the campus. IUPUI is one of the first higher ed. institutions to partner with a pro football team to reach out to middle school students.
