The colors of the leaves in Monroe County reached their autumnal peak this week, as students walking or riding through campus will attest. This cyclist is pictured in front of IUB’s Franklin Hall, a building completed on Jan. 1, 1908, at a cost of $137,000. Not pictured are the words then-IU President William Lowe Bryan selected from 17th-century author John Milton to adorn the entranceway: "A good book is the precious lifeblood of the master spirit."

Max Weinberg, drummer for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and currently band leader for the Late Night with Conan O’Brien show, was a guest Oct. 18 on the IU Bloomington campus for a Union Board-sponsored speaking engagement. Weinberg will be featured, along with IU music historian Glenn Gass, in the November edition of IU Home Pages’ "Conversations online."

Images from the Main Library on the IU Bloomington campus are caught as reflections in the windows of the Radio and Television Services Building.
