• A poster art exhibit is on display at IU South Bend’s Art Gallery, Ruskin Street, through Nov. 14. Identities in Conflict: Both Sides of Peace features 94 pieces of Israeli and Palestinian artwork.

• John Burrison, Regents Professor at Georgia State and author of Brothers in Clay, Folktales and Legends from the South and Shaping Traditions, will present a slide lecture on the Southern folk art exhibit he created for the Atlanta History Center Friday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m. in Ballantine Hall 103, IU Bloomington,

• Dennis Archer, president of the American Bar Association, will deliver the third James P. White Lecture on Legal Education, at 5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27, in the Wynne Courtroom, IU School of Law-Indianapolis. Archer, a former Detroit mayor and former Michigan Supreme Court justice, will speak on “Diversity and Legal Education.”

• A series of matinees, featuring movies from the “Golden Age of Hollywood,” is scheduled at Bloomington’s Buskirk-Chumley Theater. Sponsored in part by the IUB Department of Communication and Culture, The Letter, with Bette Davis, will be the first film, at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday (Oct. 22).
