the celebrants at the virtual birthday party for the
IU School of Medicine and its regional medical education
centers Sept. 23. The four are pictured at the Bloomington
Medical Sciences Regional Center where they watched
and took part in a real-time video conference birthday
party. Schuman, in her 10th decade, is one of the oldest
known IU School of Medicine alumna. |

Talmage Bosin, director of the
Medical Sciences Program on the Bloomington campus,
told celebrants of the history of the program as the
videoconference unfolded on the screen at the front
of the room. |

Sherry Shelton (left), graduate
secretary at the Bloomington Medical Sciences Program,
and Margaret Zuckschwerdt, administrative assistant,
served up cake and punch at Jordan Hall. A giant cake
on the Indianapolis Medical Center campus served up
some 700 centennial slices.
